My mom doesn't listen to me.?

My mom has honestly told me that "bad kids need to be hit." I've learned to block every way she hits me, but obviously hitting me is only part of a group of things she does. She says that kids don't understand anything, even though she makes me do translation and fill out forms for her. We have fights nightly. She continuously lies to me, using the the common stick and carrot way of forcing me to do things. I think she doesn't care about me except as an investment that will provide enough money for her to live as a senior comfortably. She has put down almost every single dream job I've had since I was 5, and has forced upon me more than once that I will, not should, not have to, become a lawyer. She has told me that I must become a lawyer in order to "make lots of money for me to use." I have tried to show her professional parenting books, but she just shrugs them off. She spends hours on the phone and screams at me to shut up if I try to say anything while she is on the phone. She often calls me ungrateful, spoiled, and stupid. So enough with the details, any suggestions on how to change (me or her)?
