Can anybody help me my laptop won't read my 4 gig micro sd for my palm centro?

I have a Palm centro and i bought a 4gig micro sd when i put it into the adapter that came with it and put it in the sd slots it reads it and it then dissappears a few minutes later so i tried puting it in an sd usb adapter and it has the same problem is it my laptop or the card because it works on the treo
