Did Gareth Bale deserve to win player of the year?

Everyone has their own opinion, but lets be honest don't just pick a fav player from your fav team. Actually be mature and sit back and take a look around at what you admire in a player. Example, I haven't put much thought into it, but if I did have to pick a player at this very second I would probably say Charlie Adams. Whether you hate blackpool or not, you have to admire such a small club, with even a small stadium fighting against the big boys like Man-U, Chelsea, Arsenal, etc. He's a well rounded player, scores many goals, does have ists. And even if he didn't have those hes still very vital to that team. People always just soccer players by how many goals and ists they have. Claude Mekelele was one of the worlds greatest midfielders and barley has any goals to his name. It's what difference the player makes on a field. Some Arsenal fans can argue that Van Persie could have won it. Think about it, he broke a record for away goals so far. Not to mention his season started in JANUARY not SEPTEMBER, and hes 4th for highest goals. There's lots of decisions to be made, I do think Gareth Bale is a great candidate though for player. Does he deserve it? I haven't put much thought into it. God forbid someone gives credit to a goalie instead, like Reina whos literally held liverpool's head above water through good times and bad.
