Using Barcode in Peachtree & other accounting packages.?

I am using peach tree for inventory and invoicing etc. I would like to know if I purchase a barcode reader will it be easy to link between barcode and peachtree for Invoicing. I also have Tally accounting package. will barcode work in this. Thank you,
